The Castify Cup: Submit your best Micro lesson by August 7 for $500

This summer find 3 minutes to explain the topic you are great at teaching. Show it off and get rewarded. Every educator has that one explanation that makes a difficult concept finally click.

Maybe it's your way of breaking down one-step equations. Maybe it's the analogy you use to explain the water cycle. Or perhaps it's the simple visual that helps students understand the three branches of government.

Whatever it is, we want to see it.

Welcome to the Castify Cup, a community challenge that celebrates great teaching through short, engaging video lessons. Create a micro-lesson, share your teaching style, and inspire fellow educators while competing for exciting prizes.

🎓 The Challenge

Record a micro-lesson (less than 3 minutes) that teaches one concept from start to finish.

Choose any grade level, any subject, and any concept you'd like to teach . The key is to keep your lesson short, focused, and easy for other educators to watch, learn from, and reuse in their own classrooms.

Record a micro-lesson following the Castify Cup assignment prompt, submit it through Castify, and you're in the running. From there, the top four submissions become our Final Four, and one teacher will take home the Cup.

There's no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching—and the same goes for recording your lesson.

Use whichever recording style feels most natural to you:

• 📹 Webcam only
• 💻 Screen recording only
• 🎥 Webcam + Screen recording

Whether you're speaking directly to the camera, presenting slides, using a digital whiteboard, or combining both views, we're looking for clear, engaging instruction—not a specific recording setup.

Key Dates

• Submission deadline: August 7, 2026, by 11:59pm
• Winners announced: August 13, 2026

We'll keep the window open through August 7, so there's plenty of time to plan your lesson and record it when you're ready. Submissions received after the deadline won't be eligible, so don't wait until the last minute.

How We're Evaluating

The Final Four and the Winner will be chosen by a Castify panel, based on four criteria:

• Content understanding: how accurately and thoroughly you explain your chosen concept
• Critical thinking: how well you connect ideas and bring depth or insight to the lesson
• Clarity and organization: how logically and smoothly the lesson flows
• Delivery and communication: how clearly and confidently you present, including your use of tone and visuals
  
  Winners will be notified directly, and we'll announce them on our socials on August 13, 2026.

Castify Cup Terms & Regulations

By submitting to the Castify Cup, you agree that:

• Your submission becomes the property of Castify.
• Castify may use, edit, reproduce, and distribute your submission in any format and in any channel, including but not limited to promotional materials, social media, email marketing, the Castify website, and paid advertising.
• Castify may use your name, likeness, voice, and the likeness of any colleagues or third parties appearing in your submission for the purposes above, provided you have obtained any necessary consent to include them.
• You confirm you have the right to submit the content, that it does not infringe on anyone else's copyright, and that any music, images, or materials used in your recording are either original to you or properly licensed for this use.
• You will not be entitled to additional compensation, credit, or approval rights for Castify's use of your submission beyond the prizes outlined above.
• Castify reserves the right to disqualify any submission that is incomplete, inappropriate, offensive, or does not follow the assignment prompt.
• Castify reserves the right to modify these rules, dates, or prizes if circumstances require, and will communicate any changes to participants.
• Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash, except at Castify's discretion.
• By entering, participants agree to comply with these Official Rules and the decisions of Castify, which are final in all matters relating to the competition.
